Trends in Tile

The trend now that people are really wanting in their houses is tile planks. It’s the best of both worlds, because you get the beautiful look of wood flooring that you want, but with the durability and ease of cleaning of a tile. It’s also lower in cost than a hardwood.

In addition to planks, right now the trends are towards bigger tile dimensions, like 18”, 20”, 24” tile. This provides a dramatic and luxurious look, especially when coupled with a tighter grout joint.

Now a standard grout joint is a ¼”. But a tighter, smaller dimension on the grout line can provide a refined look to the flooring installation.

Trends in Laminate

Now there are finishes these days, which are all the rage, that are supposed to have protectant. You can find manufacturers claiming their floors are moisture-proof, for use in bathrooms and kitchens.
